I dag er den nye turnering Lone Star Clash blevet annonceret til at holde sin tredje version.
Det er de to organisationer Texas eSports Association og Wellplayed.org som kommer til at gøre denne turnering mulig. Turneringen vil tage sted d. 3-4 maj, i Austin Events Center i Austin, Texas. Der kommer til at være to invitationsturneringer, Starcraft og League of Legends.
League of Legends Invitational kommer til at være på 4 hold i en double elimination bedst-af-tre. Starcraft derimod vil bestå af 16 spillere, hvoraf 11 af dem er inviteret af arrangørerne og 4 som har kvalificeret sig, og en fra Collegiate Star League qualifier. Af hver gruppe er der 2 der går videre som skal kæmpe i playoff om den store pengepræmie.
Udover disse to turneringer bliver finalerne i IvyLoL sæson 3 også afholdt i Austin. Præmiepuljen kommer til at ligge på de $15.000 i de første to turneringer, mens IvyLoL alene trækker $5.000.
Colin Kierans, CEO’en af Wellplayed.org har udtalt følgende til Ongamers:
“With Lone Star Clash 3 we hope to take the production quality WellPlayed is known for and finally bring it to a live event. We’re building new spectating features that have never been seen before in LoL or SC2 productions. We’re not only going to be showing these new stats on stream, but people who help fund our Indiegogo will get to browse the stats live during the games in their browser.”

Til at kommentere turneringen har League of Legends delen fået fat på William ‘scarra‘ Li, Optimus Tom og Rachel ‘Seltzer‘ Quirico. Imens kan Starcraft se frem til navne som Geoff ‘iNControl‘ Robinson og Anna Prosser Robinson.
Several personalities will host and cast the event. For League of Legends, William ‘scarra‘ Li,former mid player for Team Dignitas, and Optimus Tom will cast the event with Rachel ‘Seltzer‘ Quirico hosting. Geoff ‘iNcontrol‘ Robinson and Anna Prosser Robinson will host the Starcraft 2 event. Choi ‘Polt’ Hun is the first invited player to the Starcraft event.
