Det russisk/ukrainske hold dAT Team har i kølvandet på deres kvalifikation til ESL Cologne annonceret at de mangler penge for at kunne deltage til LAN’et.
Helt præcist har de offentliggjort en plan hvis de skulle opnå at få $5000 til rådighed. Årsagen til at holdet er kommet kort til penge skulle angiveligt være det kaos der i øjeblikket foregår nede i Ukraine.
dAT Team skal finde pengene hurtigst muligt, ellers vil det slet ikke være muligt for dem at deltage. Selv har de skrevet følgende i et blogindlæg på HLTV.org:
Now the thing is, we could’ve accumulated the remaining $2500 slowly in the coming days by borrowing or something like that. However, Russia and Ukraine are (obviously) not a part of the Schengen Area, and Germany is probably the strictest country in the EU (bar the UK) when it comes to visas. There’s very little time to apply for one, and in order to do so, one has to have already paid for the tickets and the hotel. So, in other words, we need the money right now, or we simply won’t have enough time to get visas.
Deres egen målsætning til turneringen har de ligeledes skrevet et par ord om:
Regarding our potential placement at the event… Obviously, we realise that we are one of the biggest underdogs of the event. We understand that not getting out of the groups is the most likely scenario. Still,, with proper preparation and taking into consideration the eccentric map pool and veto system of ESL One, we just might have a chance. And even if we fail, we will still get an enormous amount of experience, which will help our team in the future.
